Rusted Nut Removal - Any Tips?

i have not used on of those before anygood? any links I just use a wire brush.

there brill for re cutting damaged threads you could run it round the threads that are accessible after you have wire brushed them they do one in metric and a one in imperial

i think i have something similar in my snapon thread clanner set never knew how to use it

Well worth having them if you need to reclaim mullered threads.They come in sets of three.

Just don't try winding the nut off without cleaning the threads, it will just gaul up solid.

mine are blue point cost about 14 quid each 40 years ago. they have got me out of the poo about 5 times so have earned there keep

i think there was only 1 in my kit which consists of the thread cleanning taps and dies

yes .most of the file goes over the good threads and it only cuts the damaged part and keeps it in line

ill try it next time easy to just wind the die nut on!

I have tried Honda ATF mixed 50/50 with acetone but it does not mix, it separates out almost instantly. If you have experienced differently what ATF are you using?

Any normal ATF will mix OK but it does separate out when left. Just give it a slosh round before use. It is certainly my preferred release agent.

not any! i tried the lucas stop leak stuff it dont like to mix! weird

ill try it next time easy to just wind the die nut on!

the file is handy because it fits loads of different size and types of thread you would need a whole host of die nuts to get them all

i have all the ones i need but there is always one time
