Rustbuster dont do the Milspec ASTM wax any more

ACF50 doesnt come close to the longevity athat ASTM offered. Fine if you want to treat the underside 3 times a year or so i guess?

thats the one downside ,,, I do once a year after mot outside things , but inside chassis I do every couple of years , just a piff in and all is good ,

On it's own, MIL-SPEC is meaningless - it's just short for Military Specification (like saying something was done to 'British Standard', or 'DIN' , or 'Aerospace grade' etc.)

We used to work to several of these, and some are exacting and aimed at performance, but others are just a way of describing something. Eg: MIL-E-12397 (pencil eraser), CCC-C-440E (cheesecloth).

What matters is the standard that is being referenced, and often, what sub group or type within that standard.

I don't know what MIL-SPEC Rustbuster were claiming conformance with (@Chris@rust ??) - it could have been MIL-PRF-81309H ( Clicky 440kB pdf )



Silmid does a "MIL-SPEC" corrosion inhibitor to the above. ( It's not cheap though! )

Hmmm. Interesting. Looks more like an ACF50 type product, but could be wrong.

The stuff i was using you would never get through a hand trigger which is supplied with that........................

Not a fan of the lanolin based stuff sadly.
