before I go an buy a scraper any specific model head and shoulders better ,bahco?, or are they all about as good as each other.cheersGet yourself a flat carbide scraper. WD40 and scotchbrite works great, but it also doesn't differentiate between rust and good metal. With a carbide scraper you can just take off the raised rusty bits.
So please tell us the methods you used, especially the chuck, thanksEverything can be cleaned. It's just a simple method of hard work. Unfortunately I don't do any restoration or this kind of work anymore . A few examples of what can be easily achieved

Pull scrapers are more for removing paint. You need to be sure you are not digging into the base metal. What’s the advantage over a pull scraper for this application? (Genuine question, I only use/own pull scrapers).
