I have just made loads of plug welds replacing a panel on a car I dont care about (nissan micra egg). I cleaned up the flanges and painted them with built hamber weldable etch primer. However, a few of my plug weld burnt the paint leaving the flanges without rust protection. I seem sealed them for good measure, but that stuff is nasty and I made a bit of a dogs dinner out of it. You cant see it so I happy.
However, now I want to replace the sills on my Mk1 golf and I dont want to coat the seems in the horrible seem sealer. How can i make sure that my flanges dont rust fromt he inside out when I make plug welds?
