I'm currently attempting to remove all the rust from the chassis off my car and for the most I am having success with a combination of my angle grinder with a flap disc/wire cup brush and just cutting any rot out completely.
I have just bough five litres of epoxy primer and cant wait to start sloshing it on buuuttttt I have a problem (or several..)
In areas of the car, the engine bay in particular, where there is a bracket or a panel spot welded over another the rust seems to form around the join. I'm cleaning it off as best I can but I sort of feel like maybe the rust could be in the join? if that makes sense?
Cutting out big lumps of the car and peeling panels apart is a little over my head and I would avoid it if possible.. does anyone have any advice as to how I should proceed as I don't want all the rust I have been battling to return in a few months time
