All this talk of tyre repair kits makes me laugh a home remedy tip, if you have a SLIGHT puncture or a bead leak, a small syringe of milk in the tyre works very well and doesn't stop you from having it repaired later,
In fact my disco three of the four had bead leaks so stripped them off cleaned bead sealer etc after a few weeks down again would take about 2/3 days to need blowing up quick milk injection all good now.

As kids we used to do that on bicycles to get home, used it many times

Her indoors and the kids have Range Rovers because they think they need them and they are virtually impossible to jack up with the rubbish they are supplied with, the jack lifts the body and its not until the jack is at the end of its travel ( about 18") that the wheel only just leaves the ground. A pain.

I lent my spare to a farmer when he had a puncture and he used a high lift jack under the bumper of his 90 to lift it to change the wheel, scariest wheel change I've ever seen. I stood well back, I wanted to use my bottle jack under the axle but he wouldn't listen

No you put some in the bike pump I know we did some daft things, but didn't involve a syringe though.

Used to be able to get milk from the milk slot machine, remember them?

All these home brew remedies were used and effective years ago, Never came across the milk injection myself, but, leaky radiator, porridge,egg white or Colmans mustard powder, Noisy gearbox or back axle, small amount of sawdust or even heard of nylon stockings being cut up and poked in through the filler cap, Big-end play being taken up by paper behind the shell. No doubt there are many more,

I remember when one of my mates bought a Moggy Minor off another mate , who failed to tell him about the coke can repair patch that was glued in and under sealed to get it through the MOT

Well, it does on mine. Mine's an early one and perhaps it changed when they did the LCI [Life Cycle Improvement] upgrade, I'm aware that there were 'black boxes' in the bottom of the well on later models.

Mines a pre LCI so I’ll measure up in that case

I have partially filled a trailer tyre with water to get home, the tyre had a big rip, in side wall but held some water, the weight of water spun outwards keeping the tyre 'inflated' a bit like the water in bucket spun round your head the g force keeps the water in the tread which got me home at 30mph coz I had already used the spare.

How did you get the water in to the tyre?

Maybe through the rip in the tyre, Placed at the top.

It was, I got in road works and was dreading it all stopping, the motor bike on the trailer was only light, so put it over to the good side, I had nothing to lose I could'nt leave the bike on the side of the road at 1oclock am , it would be gone, it worked surprisingly well.

How did you get the water in to the tyre?

I have pumped a tyre up with a mains water hose before now, in an emergency it obviously puts some water in but there is air already in there, so you get some water, some air, but the hydraulic action inflates the tyre and because of natural spinning balance it evens out as you drive.

I've got a flat folding tyre and a compressor in my car, mad idea!!

Most new cars come with tyre weld and nothing more!
Run flats arent new. Dunlop had them in the 70s!

My Touareg has a collapsible tyre on the spare, With supplied compressor. Never been used, What sort of lifespan do these tyres have? Cant imagine that they are very cheap to replace,
