Run out of ideas with generator.

I've not been on for a while. My BT new improved super fast fibre optic broadband os around 0.5mbs now and they blame my equipment. So it's the fault of the iphones, Apple laptops, PC laptops and ipad. Anyway, I digress. P have a portable generator 3kw that was working fine. Switched it off and when it was restarted it had no output. 12volt works ok. The volt meter indicates 240volts but both the 110 and 240 outlets are dead. I've checked the overload trip, the breakers, continuity from outlets to generator terminals and the 110 240 changeover switch. I measure 110 v each across the two windings which I presume are joined to give 240v.. This genny does not have a voltage regulator or brushes or slip ring, just a 24uf capacitor Any ideas please, before i take a sledge hammer to it.

oh i had that bust up with bt years ago with there crappy surf time no matter what i did i could not recieve what they was saying they was suplying i was actually getting what your getting now

over a few months i had run speedtests galore had loads of logs on it

i learnt tracert windows 7 has the snipping screen tool for grabbing a screen shot often dated with windows xp

these tests must be done via a direct line to the outside line first box note anything else on this connection will floor your internet slowing it even more down that what it is already
i even bought my own modem top of the range that wasnt like bts own modem somehow i got a better connection then through adsl

in end i ended up with the manager at bt i had enough evidence to prove it was there side including a few call outs of there engineers until one with managers reference admited i could never recieve over 0.5mbs as too far away from the servers

soon after this they tried to charge me an extra 60.00 on top of my surftime bill a month i said fine and floored it to even less internet package i was told i couldnt do that as i was in contract they kinda didnt like that i had the logs manager info and made it perectly clear they couldnt provide me with a proper connection anyway

soon after i jumped to cable internet blueyonder as it was known then 35meg been on it ever since

They had the cheek in the first instance to send me a letter thanking me for wanting to upgrade to fibre optic with the customary increase in price and told me to plug in the new box that arrived unsolicited in the post. It didn't work. I could see the modem but it couldn't connect to their end. On the day of the changeover it did connect but is slower than it's ever been. I'm apparently stuck with a new contract I never asked for and never signed up for too. Last time I had trouble with Virgin and was getting nowhere, my mate pulled their box out of the pavement with his digger in the middle of the night. Solved the problem and switched to Sky. I got talked into BT with a promise of more speed and cheaper contract.

not going to happen with bt as it refused to upgrade its network to fibre when cable was installing it

you are not stuck with a contract if they are not delivering on there packages you can leave at any time due to there failures

sometime soon the whole island of Crete will connected to Fibre.....
it's even in the small villages......
the tell tale sign is a 75mm wide strip of new tarmac at the side of the road......
was in Chania a few weeks ago and it seems they r going down the side streets now....
for us in the boonies.....at the mo....
were on unlimited dial up.....we get a land line, TV and an unlimited internet for €36 per month....
no idea on how to find the speed but never any buffering and it works for us....
we dont play game tho....no time....
UK Gov should have stipulated guarantee's to internet providers.....
as the likes of BT just sit on their thumbs....but arn't things changing now....??
