Rubber Corner Protectors

I'm after some rubber corner protectors like this for my brick gate pillars:

I just don't fancy paying £96 for a 3m length plus £12 postage!

I just tried folding a bit of HV mat around the corner and sticking it on with Everbuild Sika Multi Stick. Clamped it on with a couple of bits of timber and 3 ratchet straps. Gave it 24 hours, released the straps and all looked good. A couple of hours later and it popped off. Made a right mess! So I need something "proper" to go on there.

I'm even thinking to print them in TPU...might work out expensive.

What are you protecting them against??
Tight entrance to your drive? Heavy vehicles likely to hit them? Poor drivers?

Get some 2mm stainless steel bent into a 50 x 50 angle profile and screw or glue it on. If you want it to blend in paint it black.

Idiots mainly. "This bloke" had a lot on his mind one morning. So much so that in reversing he completely ignored the reversing alarm & corner sensors

Aside from that, it is a bit tight between the pillars and on the sloping drive I worry about sliding a little in the snow & ice.

With the snow and ice, I am not sure rubber would reduce the damage you show. By the time the body touches the brick, it is too late. Hence, maybe a kerb at ground level that restricts the wheel path might be a more robust option.

Look at the column protection in multi-storey carparks - anything on the column itself is more for soft humans and opening doors rather than vehicle impact.

Given the rubber will grip whatever is shoved into it, like car bodywork, rather than slide along it like brick, you are going to need to bolt it on anyway.

Or wrap it all the way around the entire pillar

Going to have a word with my lad tonight and see if he can print say 250 mm long custom sections in black TPU. Just got to weigh the cost up.

Corner protectors aren't really to protect the corners just to highlight them. If you want to protect car / corner as above put a curb in.

Fabricate brackets and a long 'roller' to go up each corner

Try a chandlers, gunwale/corner protector, maybe 'Hood' on here will know.
