Hmmm, I'm in the middle of designing and building an inspection system to find defects in 30mm ammo (HE and tracer)... odd thing is that it only has to check 2000 rounds a week, I'd have thought the average cannon these days gets through that many a minute...!

600 rounds per min for a 30mm if I remember correctly. The thing is I don't think the navy has the money to pay for 2000 rounds per week nowadays.

The 30mm will happy blast out 600 rounds, but it is how fast you can re load the wee beastie. Mind you the Phalanx would empty the bank account in about half the time.
