Hi.
Can anyone explain the duty cycle on this machine
It says 35% at 160 amps which is horrendous, but what would it be at 140/120 amps etc. Will the duty cycle get better with lower amperage.
Thanks dave
35% isn't bad, I'd imagine it will be around 50-60% at 120/140 and maybe 80-100 at 100%. It's after all a small cheap inverter, and not designed or priced for continuous production type welding.

Full whack at 35% is a good DC. But at what temp that's the question. Miller dynasty Dx200 is only 20% but at 40°c. It's all nonsense any way IMO. My old magic wave was also 20% at 40° and i hardly ever even heard the fan cut in despite many long spells of 200 amps on 6mm Alu so it was a long way off the DC been effected. Rtech can claim bigger DC figures than posher machines as they run with a howling gale blowing through the heat sinks consistently.
