I have a connection to aircraft too. Former RAF aircraft technician. It's the 10201 I have bought which was an AAPP for the Argosy. Very similar to a 1S60 although uprated. It has a gearbox driving an hydraulic pump, DC generator and a blower for the oil cooler and generator. Thanks for the great posts.

Here is my video of me talking about it and I show some detail of the manual. The engine is being delivered to Morayvia, my local aircraft museum. They will look after it until I can get onto it.

That's a replica built by Bernie Fineman and Leepu for Jools Holland with Jaguar underpinnings for the TV show chop shop.

P.S. that's not it's real reg number. But it is Taxed and MOT'd.

Well the courier pallet company is picking it up this morning. Fingers crossed it will arrive in one piece.

If you know me from here you'll know I had "issues" when my Harrison Mill was delivered by pallet courier.

It's coming from Glossop in Derbyshire up to Moray in the Highlands. When I had my mill delivered, it went over on its side in the back of the lorry. Fortunately the engine has a lower form factor and c of g.

I'm lucky in that the aircraft museum near me, Morayvia (which, incidentally, is the best small aircraft museum in the UK, in my opinion) is staffed by a lot of people I know, who have been very kind to take delivery of the engine and allow me to store it there. I'm going to try to get it going, after a thorough rebuild. Then I will store it there and they can use it as an exhibit too.

Yes I get it, I thought it was eye wateringly expensive too. The thing is, they are becoming so rare now, especially the ones from the Argosy. I just thought if I don't buy it, I will never see another. There was one other factor that came into play. I saw, on the same day, this:-

As far as I was concerned, I'd been given a sign. So I bought both. I've just had word, in the last hour, that the engine has been picked up by the courier. I'm at work at the moment. The man who will receive it at Morayvia on my behalf is my old boss Chris. He was my WO when I worked on the Nimrod at RAF Kinloss.

Clearly not a private seller.
Edit: Most likely it's the same people the OP bought his from, I can't believe there's two jet engine dealers in Glossop. :laughing:
