Since this is a welding thread but since many of you will own power tools for use on other materials, I've stuck this one in the brew room for consideration. I've got a 1/2" Axminster Power Tools router which I've used a few times but am thinking of replacing. It's rather on the big/heavy side which makes it awkward to manouvre, and the plunge action has never been at all smooth, and was thinking of downsizing, but wondered whether a 1/4" in jobbie would be up to the job or if I'd need a 3/8 model. It does seem however, thath there are more 1/4" and 1/2" models than 3/8", is this (a) true or just my perception and(b) if true is it for a good reason? All advice (sanitary anyway) gratefully accepted
