I was reading up about the function of grease in the (Tritan) rotory hammer drill. Apparently if the amount of grease becomes a bit low, this can reduce the efficency of the hammering function.
The manual advises topping up the grease after every 5 hours of use. I have no issues with that, but have not come across this before. Maybe it is something specific to rotory hamer drills? It seems the level of grease is an integral part of the hammering force.
I did also wonder where the grease goes to when the level is low. Does some component of lithium grease evaporate? Every day a school day.
