What's it worth? I think I am really after a large rotary table really but when they said it was over 20kg I thought I would investigate a little more...It certainly looks like it.

I just can't see how you would use it though..
Unfortunately that's what I thought it was. This is what I want to do. Forgive the heath Robinson attempt I just needed to mark the top of the rod but got carried away and realised a cheap lightweight one just is not going to be sturdy enough as the rotary table lifts with even a light cut. With a tailstock of the same center height
Fit the gear blank onto a mandrel supported between them and clamp it to the mill table
Did I.You missed a few big tables on here recently for decent money.
10 inch and excellent condition...
First off..lolAnd what about the rotary table?
What do you want to use it for? Non-critical machining of radii? Accurate angular indexing? Simple indexing (4, 6, 8, 12)? Large or prime number dividing?
Good points: 10". Plenty of space for clamps. 4 T-slots, mostly better than 3. Indexing arm and plunger, sector arms and one dividing plate.
Bad points: horizontal use only. 4 T-slots: holding a 3-jaw chuck with 3 mounting points is difficult. Centre detail might be frustrating, might be excellent. A Morse taper hole is good as it is easy to put a plug or ER chuck in it to align both the workpiece on the RT and the RT itself under the spindle. No handwheel, just a bent rod. No angular scale and vernier for angular indexing. PITA for simple indexing. By Murphy's law, the dividing plate will not have the hole circle you need.
It is something I would buy knowing I had to work on it to make it do what I want. The big killer for me is the lack of resettable angular scale as that is a faff to make. The big bonus is the sector arms and plunger. I would pay £150. Have a look at a brand new 10" Vertex (Rotagrip) to see what a full-featured product includes and decide if the price difference is worth it to you to make the parts this one is lacking.
This was what I needed it for today.
As for angular indexing I don't know what that is. I can have a reasonable guess but if it's what I think, I assumed it would be standard on it.
