What size positioner do you need for this job? Thought about hiring one?
A 10kg would "do" the job, it's 4-5" diameter rollers around 400mm long.
but I want the flexibility of a 100kg+ unit with low and high speed capability, and I like the idea that "having" one in my shop will bring jobs in. 0.1-3rpm gives flexibility from 20mm to over 600mm diameter, even if i never have a job that needs it... If I buy or make a machine, that's my basic spec.
Had a price back for a ProArc 100kg brand new and it's not all that bad tbf. £1400 inc VAT. Still couldn't justify it unless I get a good size order of rollers, and last time there was only 10 to do
not even worth hiring one for.
