So the house we bought a couple of years ago has had its rain/storm water drains neglected for its entire life, it seems, and now one section is full of roots, right under the patio
I've cleared more than 10m from the front of the house running towards the back with drain rods. This section had a bunch of roots, but nothing too crazy.
The gully at the rear of the house is blocked and not flowing anywhere, so I dug that up, and as expected the actual drain pipe is full of roots and mud.
The question is, has anyone had much luck with one of those "holesaw" looking things you can get for drain rods?
They're quite expensive, so keen not to buy one if they're just rubbish anyway, but the plan is to possibly use one of them, and then the high pressure washer to blast the crap back out (with a drain attachment, which i already have).
Like this https://www.wardsflex.co.uk/90mm-crown-root-cutter-for-8mm-and-10mm-rods/ - I'd also have to buy the rods etc as I don't think those are compatible with the screwfix rods I have
Alternatively, I could probably make a passable saw from a piece of stainless tubing, but always easier to buy something than build it, especially with the workshop being half complete
