ratchet them upi thought that to secure them but what about getting it from ground level.
Id agree a strap could damage the rubber seals on the bottom.I would slide two lumps of 4x2 under each end and sling off that to save squishing the sides in, it could live on those when you lower it to the floor.

That’s how I took my canopy off. I used 2 really long 4x2’s and slowly dragged the canopy sideways till gravity took over, and then gently slid it to the ground. Would have been easier if I’d had something to sling it off, but it was easy enough to do it on my ownI would slide two lumps of 4x2 under each end and sling off that to save squishing the sides in, it could live on those when you lower it to the floor.

Quoting my own post here, but I couldn’t edit my original one to add the pic! That’s how I took my canopy off. Ratchet straps have very limited lifting range. Once the 'reel' is full of strap (remember it goes onto the reel double thickness), it won't wind up any more.ratchet them up
I used to take mine off on my own. Slide it towards the back and get under the middle.I see now with a pix posted....That's known as a truck cap around these parts, those fiberglass ones
are the heaviest.
Usually 2 guys can lift one off easily.
One guy, yes rig a overhead lifting point, and as shown with timbers
is best.
I slid one off the back to something I shimmed up to the same height, but
it can get tricky.
Overhead lift is safest.
yep thats what i meant but didnt putRatchet straps have very limited lifting range. Once the 'reel' is full of strap (remember it goes onto the reel double thickness), it won't wind up any more.
You can lfit a lot further with a pair of straps at each position. Once the reel of the first is full, snug up the second and take the weight until that one is full. Then reposition the first.
I can just picture it:I used to take mine off on my own. Slide it towards the back and get under the middle.
Most times it went OK but occasionally the back door swings open and moves the center of gravity...then it gets interesting. Lol
Me too, kept it outside on a pair of trestlesI used to take mine off on my own. Slide it towards the back and get under the middle.
