CheaaaaaapWhat's a reasonable price?
Third for the bay here. Just double check the location. I got caught out the first time and 'Steve' said he was in Manchester but they shipped from China. Usually you get a free arbor as well with the Ebay ones. They normally need fettling to fit my die grinder. I hate buying cheap Chinese carp, feels hypocritical but I get through so many of the things I cant afford the 3m prices
I don't know what you do so your milage may vary but what I've found with abrasives is that you get so much longer out of decent gear that the price works out the same if not cheaper.
If time is money too then the good stuff cuts better and you get the job done quicker.
I’ll get some more 3m ones in and give them a go. The ones I did have which I wasn’t impressed with were an old batchI couldn't agree more i stopped buying cheap abrasives a long time ago they are terrible economy.
The big issue is many place that sell the decent brands only sell in larger quantities so when you go and buy 4 different grades it ends up as £250.
The flip side of that is when you buy 10 it costs half as much as buying 50.
I think Cheltenham welding supplies will spilt boxes so you can get the discount for 50 but have a mix of grits. They stock SIA. I think you would need to phone them to check though
If used commercially though it makes sense.
I spent around £700 on mirka sanding pads last month, a big outlay but I won't have to do it again for probably a few years.
It's a double win because you get the discount at the time and most likely things will go up in price so you are saving by not having to buy them again. It's amazing how quickly you forget about it too. I can't be doing with popping to town to buy 5 pieces of sand paper.
When Booker had dishwasher tablets on a buy one get one free offer I bought 2 years worth.
