I've just started bodging together a little roller to tow behind a small tractor. It will be used to roll a sand menage (horse arena type thing).
It's going to be two propane cylinders stuck together with a shaft through the middle, about 5' wide. Two end plates and a plate in the middle. It will then be fixed to a rectangular frame to be towed by the tractor and will probably have wooden bearings. I will also drill holes and weld two nuts onto one end plate so it can be filled with water.
A couple of pics of progress this afternoon after work....
Shaft is 3 1/2" tube with a 1/2" wall
A slight problem is one bottle is 5 mm larger in diameter than the other...it shouldn't cause too much grief though.
End plates are about 10mm thick
The plate for the middle is a bit rough and not totally round so water can go betwwen the two halves.
More pics as it progresses.
