Hi all,
I'm looking to 'upgrade' from my cheap but sturdy MigTig 200a dc tig machine (3 years of a lot of use, never missed a beat) but I can only afford/narrowed my choice to either the Rohr WSME-200-090 or Stahlwerk AC/DC ST IGBT Pulse.
I am after AC functionality as I am now at the stage of making ally parts for my kit car build hence these choices.
I understand I'm taking a risk with cheap Chinese type sets but its all I can afford. Well, I can't even really afford these but I'll just have to kip in the dog house for a month or two.

Function wise they are very similar but I see the Rohr has a pedal socket. What's got me in a bind is the long term support. The Stahlwerk has a lengthy warranty but postage to Germany will be at my expense. The Rohr has a 1 year warranty but they're sold from a unit 20 minutes down the road. Both make the claim of German design etc but we all know that they are variations of Chinese sets that have been around a while. I hope they've had some refinements by western engineers but, no one can say for definite.
The Rohr is also cheaper by roughly £30, I could skip the 200a (£380) and go to the 250a which is £460. The Stahlwerk comes to roughly £410.
Which one is the question.
