just phoned up to get a price for some tig rods, what do you'se think to these?

1.6mm stainless (presume 316) - £36.62
1.6mm mild steel - £27.62
2.4mm mild steel - £21.70

they're all plus vat, so a total of £98.83

They're usually sold by weight, I pay about £10 per kilo for 1mm 316

Usually the smaller they are the more £ per kilo, Ive just looked at last invoice for 2KG of 1.6mm 316 £8.20 per Kilo

Simon718 check that the price is for 316L (308L is cheaper) & that it includes alloy surcharges...which have been applicable to stainless products (and copper based alloys) for sometime now; can be as much as 50% on top of the standard price per kilo!

cheers guys, will check tomorrow what grade the stainless is. shopping around not really an option due to location, except for mail order

just north of Cushendun to Machrihanish golf course looks the shortest gap

it'll not float on its own but if you lend me a canoe it can sit in that
