Robert Dempster were a local engineering company that started in 1855 and close in 1970, Ive recently acquired a couple of books by them, one is 42 pages celebrating their first 100 years (published in 1955) and the other is a 400 page catalog (Im guessing between 1900 and 1920).
thought it would be rude not to take some photos of pages of them for you guys to look at.
so from the first 100 years
the site in 1955, employing about 1000 people
the works
display at the 1924 British Exhibition
where they export to
and this picture was the building of their new constructional workshop, which is a huge fabrication......but look closely and you can see the old boiler making works that was destroyed but a fire in 1901........they started to build the new workshop before they had flattened the old works due to the loss in production capacity.
