Can't you get ones that spot weld?
Surely it would be when spot welded compared to those rivstud's?the rear of the stud needs to be flush

Are you talking about rivstud's?it’s to go in a 3mm flat piece of mild steel
the ones I have virtually disappeared when I ran a DA sander over them and once primer and painted they completely disappear
Countersunk rivets are flush with the surface. Could do the same with a rivstud maybe? Are you talking about rivstud's?
If so I can't really understand how sanding them smooth let's them hold the sheet you're attaching them to? As normally a rivet needs the expanded part to hold it tight & firm?
Never seen them before! Do they have the same holding strength?Countersunk rivets are flush with the surface. Could do the same with a rivstud maybe?
As long as you have the material thickness to cut the correct countersink. On thinner stuff you have to dimple, but then it's not usually critical structure.Never seen them before! Do they have the same holding strength?

I'll ask a friend of mine, we used something on the switchgear where I worked.
