Paul that looks a bit overkill and pricy for occasional use, but a nice bit of kit.
What am I making?
A set of garden screens a bit like this.
Frames made of 30mm box section with welded plasma cut infills.
The frames are already made when customer asks can I attach fixings for spotlights.
So I figures a line of holes along the top with threaded inserts.
Tapping the holes? 3mm wall box is a bit thin, I will be shipping the screens, his lighting guy will be doing the lights installation, it is easy to cross thread a bolt in such a shallow thread. Using self tappers etc is relying on a guy I have never met doing it right.
I figure M6 bolts will be fine, and fairly discrete.
ShoxDr a number would be helpful, this job is ok with a small shoulder, but occasionally I sleeve one bit of box in another and a flush nut would make this a solid joint.
So which of the smaller handheld versions do I buy?

Wellnuts might do it, if these aren't great monster lights? Rubber sleeve holding a nut. Drill 'ole, poke wellnut in th'ole. Bolt then pulls the nut towards the surface, rubber expands. Ones I have are brass, is that a corrosion problem with stainless bolts etc.

5mm self drilling Tekscrews should be well ample for lighting, If you are not happy about somebody else doing it you could drive the screws yourself and supply them loose to be completed on site,With suitable remuneration of course.Faster than rivnuts and no new tools required, (unless you want another Blokie toolie thing.)
Why not finish the job properly and tack some nicely radiused 25x25mm. plates to the box section ?
The electrician could then mount the lights using a hole in the centre of the plate and use a nut and bolt,which would also prevent rainwater from getting inside the Box section and rusting through.

Oi tink it is the rivnuts thingys,
This is quite big job, the landscaper and garden designer think I am being frightfully clever adapting my design at this late stage, and like the minimalist idea.
I figure seeing that I have popped these things in would appeal to them.
The Lighting Designer? is he a sparky or a conceptualist? not sure.
However these are definitely people I would love to work for again.
My first idea was welded on tabs, simple and effective, but being able bolt into barely visible areas of the structure would look more integrated and I have an innate horror of add ons to sculpture that look unplanned.
So plan A is a chat with the designer regards how many and where he wants the fixings, then drill and fit them and supply grub screws for any that dont get used to keep water out.
I dont want any projections or lumps on my stuff. Or mullered threads.

That flowdrill stuff looks well impressive.
I have had a browse and found one like that shown by welder Paul that does up to M8 fixings for a reasonable price, so that looks like it, then I have to check out drilll sizes etc, but I figure the suppleir would know that. I noticed that the price of the fixings varies massively, like from about 50p each to around 12p.
I have spoken to my customer and they are happy for me to add this on to the cost of the order.

Split I saw one like that demonstrated in a video link looked like a good solution for tight spots, report back to base when you have used it.
Chipper, I had wondered about longevity, also strength of the things, neither are a huge concern for the specific job I am currently working on, but always good acquire background info.

Rivnuts if not installed correctly can spin, and are not intended for continual use or high torque . Where this is likely these should be used Hexagonal type,
If you think the bolt will be installed/removed then a couple of tacks with the TIG should hold it fast

For realy confined spaces I use a HT caphead bolt + 2 well fitted washers all well greased (flange type inserts,) For c/sunk type you need to turn a thick washer with a small cone .
