I was on HMS Argyll when the Lynx ditched in 1994 in the West Indies. Crew got rescued but it wasn't pleasant.
I occasionally go out to rigs with work and it doesn't generally bother me but if I stop and think too much I get the heebee jeebees sometimes.

I was glad to get into one last summer
I didn't think you had a lot of choice judging by the photos, some sort of serious accident? I was directing my comments at Chinooks and their vibes not at emergency services. On a brighter note did you recover from what ever befell you?

All in one piece, I flew my paraglider into a hill and broke my back.
Off my feet for a week ,hobbling for weeks and back in the air three months later with a clean bill of health.
Very lucky and grateful to air ambulances and the NHS.

Done my back in once on sick 4 months of agony so I can empathise with you. The Doc in Newcastle said, take notice of me or don't come back to me, was a no brainer , he was right and Im ok now.

My consultant even gave a green to go paragliding again which was a surprise. I would have carried on anyway but to get his blessing was nice.
