On the verge of putting our Saab 1992 c900 back together now. The reason it needed so much welding is that Saab attach the plastic body kit and various bits of rubber to the wheel arch with self tapping screws. These rust badly and leave big holes.
Those holes have been patched, so it's new metal now. What's the best way to attach the trim and rubber bits to the car? I have seen a couple of threads where people have used riv nuts, like this:
It looks a neat solution, but is it any better for preventing rust?
