I have one of those makitas, gifted to me ,its ok,especially free, but tried a ebuehaur(?) 18volt the other day, I highly recomend them due to the loverly balance they have, superbly comfortable to use, so much better than the yellow ones believe me.Arther

Is it a 453 by any chance? They are a bit gutless.
I got hold of a brand new one, (bare unit off Ebay), a couple of months ago for little money, as an extra drill for countersinking, pilot drilling etc.I have this vision of TYA in a tool shop drop testing all the cordless drills

yes I have one and had it for over 4 years and still going strong I also just bought a new dewalt brushless drill with 2 batteries on offer from screwfix 149 quid .I got to admit its smaller and lighter than the Makita and its powerful and there's more impact. its far nicer to use .Still got my old nicad Makita and it holds charge, I keep looking at the newer ones but can't justify getting one yet.
