its getting to the point where i might have to do a course. or at least buy a textbook.
i have a ring main around the living room (kitchen is separate) - about 16m².
it has been extended into the conversatory (10m² - as part of the ring)
i'd like to have a facility to isolate the conservatory.
if it was just spurred, i could add a double pole isolator.
but, because its a ring, i'd need a four pole (2 each,L+N) - easy enough.
but...
that would break the "ring" at the isolator when "off".
so...
can i permanently bridge the isolator, effectively making a "figure 8", or do i need a 4pole changeover switch?
rubbish pic can the "dotted lines" be permanently connected, or do they have to be switched?
which sort of leads to my second question:
if i have a spur off a ring, i'm limited to one double socket, unless i add a13a inline fuse.
what if i add a connection into the ring as per the dotted line above?
would i still need the fuse? (two fuses, one each end of the link)? theres one in the circuit, already, just wondering
