I've got a pair of Dewalt Tungsten rigger boots. They certainly have a place in my footwear lineup. I tend to wear Site Touchstone boots in the dried/summer months (cheap, comfortable, grippy while the sole doesn't pick up muck). However, in the wetter months, say when I'm in and out of the house to the garden etc. and the boots have to come off and back on, I prefer the riggers.
With the riggers I can whip them on and off in a second without even bending over to assist and they are comfortable and waterproof. I did rub in some neatsfoot compound once.
I did do some stick welding in them once and, while there wasn't any dancing at the time, I managed to get a good handful of slag from both boots that had worked its way in there. Hence not ideal for stick. I guess being "Dewalt Tungsten" limited to TIG, maybe MIG.
