RGD tool grinder

Any one have \used a RGD tool & cutter grinder or one of it's brothers have a chance of one at reasonable discount

I believe these grinders are clones of the Deckel single lip grinder, originally meant for (pantograph) engraving tools. Everybody and their mother sells one. Have a look at some US sites (maybe Grizzly, Travers Tools, KBC) as I am sure there is a more comprehensive set of instructions there than anywhere else than I have seen.

On YT, Stefan Gotteswinter and Rob Renz have some videos on their use.

Is it one of these in the video ? They are all knocked out in a factory in China and you can get them painted in your colours and have your name slapped on them, but they are all the same.

Don't think they are too bad, i seen articles in some of the model making magazines about improving or modifying them, but never took much notice as i don't have room for one.

The one you are looking at is the one he had before he bought this one, so look at videos earlier than this.

Robin did a lot of work on his to get it performing adequately, they're probably good enough out of the box for mere mortals though. There's a big difference between a single lip grinder and a proper T&C grinder too, the latter being far more versatile (And expensive).

I was going to buy the Warco version of the 'old' model but by the time I tried to order it there was a new improved version but as this actually had less capacity than the old version, I lost interest. All the suppliers have this new model now. Not cheap given that it only has a limited range of collets with it and you will probably need to buy more depending on what you are doing.
