Hi, my first post! I recently got an older welding machine for free. It is almost no information about it online, but from what I have gathered it was sold as recently as 13-15 years ago, and at that time, some people had had one for at least 15 years. So the model might be from the 80's or early 90's. But I believe they changed the name from Micromig 100 to Micro Race 102 at some poing, so mine is probably 15-20 years old. If that matters.
It was equipped with flux core wire, but it was obviously made only for gas as it has a gas line and the gun has a gas switch, and there is no way to reverse the polarity (at least easily). It didn't weld any good until I fitted normal wire (without gas). I have seen on this forum that people are able to reverse their old welder's polarity, but sometimes it will not work because of the handle. So, do you know if it is possible to reverse the polarity and to switch it back and forth with Dinse sockets on this welder? It has one wire going to the switch in the gun, which contacts with the gas switch to close the circuit. Does this mean that it will drive the wire in reverse if I switch the polarity?
It does not weld unless I press the switch on the gun.
