Retractable cable reels

I want to buy a handful of these. I don't want to pay nearly 500 quid

Does anyone know a cheaper place to buy them from. Ebay is still expensive for some rubbishy ones.

Get 230v ones and change plugs might be cheeper but I still won't bother as your lot will just melt them/ hit them with heavy steel bits

that looks exactly like the airline one I bought from aldi a few years ago. cant you just buy one of those and swap the airline for an extension lead.

seems an expensive setup for something that can only be used completely unwound?
airlines at least you can take off as much or as little as you need

We've had 2 of different makes and in both cases they broke. The mechanism packed up completely on the first and the second retracts but the lock doesn't work. You have to stand on the cable.

You can use them partially unwound, just need to be aware of the reduced current carrying capacity.
