I sold the XK8 a month ago now but still had a few old exhaust parts and a single cat at the back of the shed. After getting the garden furniture out today I loaded up the car and went to the scrap metal merchants.

I got £2 for the exhaust, but for the Cat I got £205!!!!! I couldn't believe it.

This has reminded me I've got a couple of CAT's off Skoda's ready for scrapping BTW got £175 for my old Smart Fortwo CAT

From what i have read there is more CAT metal that gets re-used than gets mined...just think what its "true" value is if thats what scrappys pay you, i bet its worth double by the time it gets skimmed off before the end man gets it.
