Restoring headlights

did you recently use one of these restorer products? I remember seeing a post but I cant find it, so may have been someone else?

Aye, I used this stuff after a recommendation on another forum I frequent.

Seems to be holding up quite well. Iirc, I got it from Amazon.

True but if your criteria for buying a car is to have glass headlights, well there ain’t much left, of those,
These headlight restoration kits are great as @roofman mentioned earlier the plastic lenses on modern headlights suffer from uv rays, you need to strip the layer off so polish wont work, the first stage is abrasive, and each subsequent stage less so, so the subsequent stages are removing the scratches from the previous, done properly it works very well, if there’s a problem I’d imagine it’s because you‘ve been a bit namby pamby and not done it properly, more is better with each stage of sanding

My present Volvo xc70 has plastic headlights which need the bumper and headlight removed to change a headlight bulb, it replaced a v70 with glass headlights where the bulbs could easily be changed. Progress?

This is my left. I belive my lights are easily removed so will do in garden.

Theres also a patch or two of peeling laquer on the bonnet. If I get the 2k out I can have a crude go at those - but no plan to strip or tart up the basecoat. Panelwipe then 2k!
