Good evening all. Has anyone used this cheap own brand resin from screwfix?

I need to secure the hand rail in my stairs. It is screwed into thermolite blocks so has worked loose. To be honest I can't see it being any weaker than the actual blocks. A cadburys crunchie would be stronger then these bloody things. It either this or I hack the plasterboard out the fill with cement and repair. Problem is I'm decorating tomorrow and need a quick repair.

Resin is fine... But the blocks will be your biggest problem

Don't know if they do resin sleeves... If they do I would use them

I have had a lot of success hanging heavy radiators using this type of fixture, its a very large big threaded plastic plug that needs a 8 or 10mm hole, its screwed into the block, then a No 8 or 10 screw goes into the plug, I wa ssure ours were Fischer, but similar to these, a lot will depend on what state the holes in now. What you dont want is a good tight fit for a plug and an equally tight fit for the screw, the expansion force will just crush the soft block.

there are many chemical anchor products on the market to fasten almost any sort of fixing into a block. avoid the stuff out of the big tubes,gun o prene, sticks like ****, them sort of panel adhesives
