Reset ford focus ST alarm after battery change

I have a 2007 ford focus ST .
I have changed the battery, but the alarm will not reset.
The car DOES start , but the alarm sounds, and hazards flash.

Any ideas how to reset the alarm?

In my experiance once you put the key in the ignition and start the car it should reset. So many a bigger issue than the alarm resetting. Many a probloem with the key, do you have another key you could try?

Only the one key.
It locks/unlocks/starts/drives.
Just with flashing hazards and horn beeping

Maybe you have to inset key and start within a specific short time of battery being connected.

When changing the battery on some remotes, you have to hold the button(s) down for a few seconds before inserting the new battery.

As above. Resetting the key may work. Press lock and unlock together for about 10 seconds. On mercedes key a light blinks on the key to tell you its reset.

;rob not the same as yours as mine is older but after a battery change i have to turn the 2 noches back and forth x times and then press with all the door shut the lock pop up and its then synced to car again

just saying you did not lose a chip when opening the key my daughter had 2 chips in her key when i repaired it

Now sorted.

Phoned the previous owner (brother in law), who turned up 20mins later with master key. ​

Locked and unlocked door with that, and jobs my uncle. (Or something like that(!) )
