I tore up an engineered wood flooring in my kitchen/dining room today to expose the tiles beneath.
Unfortunately I was unable to get all the screws fixing the edging strips around two steps up, so as I prised the wood flooring up it broke some tiles and tore off one of the original wood edging strips (there was a lot of adhesive on it so it was probably always inevitable).
I'm going to give the tiling a go as I've got spares in the garage and it looks straightforward enough. However I'm unsure how to go about replacing the wood edging as I can't seem to see how it was fixed in place on top of the stonework. The remaining edging also has no obvious signs.
You can see the screw holes in some of the tiles and the original edging where the newer floor was fixed down.
