Replacing my Migmate 100

I got an SIP Migmate 100 for my 21st birthday 23 years ago, mainly because my Citroen 2CV needed a new sill and floor! It has served me pretty well and seems to be a lot better quality than some of the more recent models; the wire feed mechanism is steel and the motor looks like a windscreen wiper motor. I am about to embark on my latest restoration project (1988 Mini) after previously restoring a Morris Minor and Volvo Amazon Estate and building a kit car. Thinking about a new machine. Is there any difference between the Parweld XTM 161C and the SWP Mig 170c? does Weldequip still sell the XTM 161C. I suppose my other option is the Clarke 160TM. I don't think funds will stretch to a Portamig. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you're thinking in a price range around £300 - £400-ish, why not keep an eye open for a good s/h pro welder, if you have the space to house it?
Make sure it has a low amperage welding range of 20 - 30 amps, especially if working on an old Mini, and if it has an output of more than 160A at the top end, remember you may have to give it a 16A or 20A supply.
Generally speaking, a good s/h pro machine will be better than a good new hobby machine.

got to try son is looking for money the mig is either a 150 or more i think son is getting anps and volts mixed up

remind me if output is 12v to 110 v on a mig how does that translate to amps thanks
