Hi All,
Been ages since I last darkened these pages
Anyway, either I have lost the ability to produce half decent welds, or my trusty Autolynx 130 has decided to finally retire.
Both are distinct possibilities, but even giving the old beast the best chance by laying some decent welds onto spotlessly clean new steel, I still fail miserably.
Therefore, I think it is time to shell out some hard earned on a replacement that will be somewhere near the quality of the welder it is to replace.
I do not have a massive budget, it is fair to say I am more of a hobby user than professional - I have had experience of some of the hobbyist offerings, and have not been impressed - i have a couple of cars to restore, and do the odd bit of fabrication, so really need something a little better than the low end stuff I think.
So, any reccomendations - budget is going to be around £400
Must haves:-
Low power settings, most of my welding is car bodywork, so 0.8mm to 1.5mm is normal.
Must be happy with a half height cylinder strapped to its back
Single phase preferred (unless stupidly cheap to buy!)
15 KG reel capable
Euro style torch connector
Decent length earth lead!
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
Sean
