Replacement Pillar Drill Chuck

I need to replace the chuck on our pillar drill after one of the jaws came out of alignment with the other two - its sat about 8mm further into the body and no amount of coaxing has managed to get it back in line.

So, can anyone recommend where I can get a replacement? Its a 0.5mm - 13mm chuck with a B16 taper.

A quick google has turned up RDG Tools - has anyone used them?

Thanks for the reply! I've just looked on the Chronos website but they don't do that taper. Had a feeling I was going to struggle to find a replacement as a B16 taper is only used on the DIY and budget stuff.

I'll get onto RDG on Monday.

I bought a keyless chuck from RDG for my lathe had no problems with it just ask for the taper you need mine came seperate from the chuck.

Reno, you may still be able to fix the original chuck. To dismantle it, close it so that it is almost fully shut. Then slide the outer sleeve ( with the teeth for the key ) off forwards, over the chuck jaw end. This can be done in a press, or by using pipe or large sockets in a vice. With the sleeve off, you may be able to see & fix the problem. Note that if you fully dismantle the chuck, the split nut and the three jaws must be re-assembled in exactly their original positions.

Eddie, I'll have to give that a try. The problem I have is that one of the jaws has dropped about 8mm back into the chuck. Do you think it will still be possible to dismantle?
