Repairing Sealy space warmer , paraffin fueled

Now If my memory would only let me I'd be able to take loads of photos , up load them to a photo site , then stuff some pictures on here of what I've been doing . Eat your hearts out lads ... I can't remember how to do it nor can I take it in of how to set things up at a new site .

DAPPH you don't need other image hosting sites, you can just attach your pictures directly to your post here.

Just got to remember where they are / find them on my computer . They don't seem to be held in the Pictures file .... like as not one day the auto update thing snook in a different storage file name / place & dumps them there ..
Trouble is I can't find it easily .. I have hit it by accident once or twice in the last year or so , but didn't write down all the steps I'd taken to reach it accidentally , for most likely I wasn't even looking for pictures at the time .

I use UBUNTU 16 as my operating system it does not appear to work out like you say there are no new photo's in the photo file nor in " Shotwell " ....my chosen handline system .

Well this afternoon was one of revelations .
I had to wait for some more fuel hose to arrive & also to turn up & sweat ( ran out of gas for the blow lamp so had to go & buy more ) on a ribbed brass sleeve on one of the fuel line connections unions to take it from 4 mm to 6 mm . The original hose was tremendously stretched over the fuel line connection spigots . I cut the hose off near one of them & found it was 3.2 mm internal diameter so ordered a new hose ... I couldn't get it to fit no matter what I did .. the tube I'd purchase has reinforcing in it .. the original one didn't hence my having to get the larger bore hose .
Everything sorted that needed sorting on the heater , 2 gallons of heating oil in the tank then the moment of truthb.. switch on ..nothing for two seconds or so then the HT started then the fan motor /air pump Huston we have ignition . Flame was lousy & yellow then it cut out ... Errrrrk!
Left it a few seconds ... same again but this time I managed to move the air pressure screw half a turn ,, a bit better flame then it cut out . Left it for a minute or so again & reignited it .. saw that the air pressure gauge ain't working and heard the motor making a horrible graunching noise ... I kind of guessed that I'll need to strip & re bearing the motor as there was a lot of movement in the shaft ..like a sausage in the Blackwall tunnel when I sorted out the compressor vanes . At least I've cured the air leak in the fuel lift line . & the screeching of the compressor .

My guess is that the photo cell light sensing resistor is faulty & becomes open circuit once it's had a light on it for a while whilst it's being excessively vibrated as the motor turns . It checks out OK when cold . I've found a photocell on eBay so tomorow if every thung is OK I'll see if I can take the cell hoode apart with out wrecking it ..it's rick hard rubber .. a new one is close on a stupid price of £40 thoughther may be cheaper ones available .

Does any one know of a website that sells these generic heater spares other than Sealy , Draper , SIP or any of the other big national machinery sales shops ?
