Do you know about reinforcing the backside of the repair with mesh? You can't just glue the edges together.
The way I would repair plastic parts is the same a fibreglass repairs. West Systems do an epoxy resin repair kit at reasonable cost. I use it with fibreglass mat to reinforce the back of the repair, then vee and fill as normal.
tends to fall off /come unstuck if the bumper flexes vs the proper adhesive will bend with the bumper
Side skirts and bumpers on cars from the last 20 years tend to be a poly- type plastic. You do need special adhesive for those, even epoxy doesn't hold long.
Ok thanks. It's 1989. Is there any way of telling what type it is?

apparently plastic welding has been overtaken by modern "glues". Can anyone recommend a good adhesive to glue some plastic "side skirts" back together and repair a plastic bumper?
Thanks in advance.
Ok. I took the parts to a local body shop and asked for plastic welding (I had some motorbike fairings done years ago and they came up really well) but they told me they use the glues. I'm daunted by welding it but thought glue and filler might be an interesting thing to try myself.
