Haha, yep. I enjoy fiddling with the engines much more actually using them. And I think I enjoy a bit of a grumble about it even more!

Well I called into the garage and there is no spring, in fact there is no longer a box of bit's, apparently they were weighed in when scrap prices were decent, I was about to let rip until I was reminded it was over 15 years ago when I said I will pop back and shift those next weekend....time fly's
Nice hearing about the Seagull's though, I used to repair those for the locals, every winter they would land with the barrel side cracked and pushed out with the waterways freezing, managed to fix some but most were too badly corroded to do anything with.
However, being a bit of an expert on the Seagull outboards I don't mind letting you in to a trade secret how to get them to go fast...as follows:
Using some angle make two brackets protruding to the rear from each side.
Get a solid bit of board and bolt to the two frames
Then fasten a 20hp Merc onto the board
Pull the cord and away you go...updated seagull![]()
