This has been kicking around somewhere, broken in transit and credited by the supplier, then scrounged and give to me in case I can fix it. So I'm looking for suggestions. I haven't done any sort of clean up or preparation yet, so the surfaces are basically as received, the fracture surface now with rust. As the photos show the blade has broken in a rather strange shape, and when fitted together the gaps don't quite close up. Steel thickness is just under 4mm at the spine and just a smidge under 2mm at the thinnest point. I'm not sure if I should clean the breaks, leaving clean steel but a gap to fill, or try to run a bead over the top from each side. Processes I have available are Arc with 2mm electrodes (or 2.5) or gasless MIG which I have never grown to love.
