Pair of big levers, never had any issues with car tyres, they're easy usually, track tyres and crossplies are a little tricky, but nothing compares to the race tyres on the buggy (12 ply sidewalls, 4 of which are steel)

tyers, there are actualy quite easy to get off rims once you've seen it done. learning to do it is a twerp

Some years ago my ex neighbour asked me about taking a tyre off so that he could use the rim to store a hosepipe, not really wanting to do it I loaned him some levers and a slide hammer bead breaker, and left him to it.
After a hour or so of banging and cursing he knocked the door asking if I had any other ideas to break the bead, so I suggested the plank of wood and drive a car up it method,
another hour or so passed, and I went out to see how he was faring, "no luck at at all cant shift it"
I had a quick look, kicked the tyre and suggested that if he let air out It would make the job much easier, ten minutes later it was off, guess who ended up doing it though.

A sissor jack under an axle works great as a bead breaker it's what I use, poundland sell levers and thats what I keep at home got a machine at work. As far as I know all car wheels are designed for the tyre to come off to the outside.

I think most are designed that way as they seem to be tapered or have a valley closer to the outside allowing more clearance between tyre and rim during removal but I have also come across symmetrical rims as well but only steel

I work with motorbike wheels every day so not much car changing for me only symetrical car ones I have seen have been the spoked wheel ones.

As far as I know all car wheels are designed for the tyre to come off to the outside.

trivia --------Austin mini cooper type reverse rims where opposite,tyres came off the back.

LWB Series Landrover rims ideally need to come off the back too as the rim is shallower there making it easier to get the tyre off
