Removing rotor off shaft

Last time I wanted the shaft from an old electric motor I cut the centre lump with the angke grinder, parallel with the shaft on both sides and drove wedges in the cuts to break the last milimeter or so.
Is there an easier way? I have tried driving it out with the 10ton press and with a big hammer but it appears solid.
I don't have any immediate use for the shaft, just seems pityful to drop it in the scrap bin.

heat ? the metals should expand at differant times due to differant metals

Find some motor manufacturing videos on YT and see how they are made. That would then give you some ideas on how they could be unmade.

To me the press seems a reasonable idea, so maybe you just need a bigger boat.

The rotor will have been heated in the factory and then shaft possibly dipped in liquid nitrogen to shrink it. 10 ton press won't move it. Polish the corrosion off the shaft, heat rotor up quickly to minimise transfer of heat to the shaft and then about 30 ton should do it

I worked in a factory where we made similar motors.
Simple press fit not nitrogen involved.

However, yours being a squirrel cage rotor, the "bars" are made by putting the
shaft with the punching's installed into a mold where the aluminum or pot metal
is injected.
Whether or not it made the press fit more better, or not I do not know.
But 10 tons is not very much, I would try 20 tons.

I have a similar rotor and I saved it to use the outer part as a weight for a slide hammer.
