I placed a picture from my bike a while ago and forgot to blur the licenceplate. Is it still possible to edit an old post?
I’ve never understood the need for blanking out reg plates, when the same vehicle can be seen out and about on the road every time it’s driven.Don't bother, you are just as likely to get cloned by someone spotting you out and about as you are from a picture on here.
Someone told me it’s common to clone a car reg, and then you suddenly find you don’t own your car any more. Apparently it’s happened with classic cars, hot rods etc. How do they do that?
It does believe me, reg number gets you insurance, parts, MOT,s, registered keepers details (name and address) to ANPR. The traveling community drive trucks and vans with reg plates on up to 3 vehicles...i know a crowd doing it right now.It doesn't. The chassis number is the true identity, the registration mark tells you nothing.
I knew of someone living well over a hundred miles away from where he was clocked, at high speed, in Liverpool.Don't bother, you are just as likely to get cloned by someone spotting you out and about as you are from a picture on here.

It's so much easier to google the make and colour of a car you want to disguise with a false plate than it is to stand around waiting for one to drive by.

VIN number is checked on an MOT

Problem is the real owner of the plate is treated as guilty unless proven innocent!
but if you own 3 white Transits only one needs to be taxed, tested and insured. The other two 'borrow' that one's number plate.

All good until you are pulled over.
But where do you send the NIP?
Yea fully aware of that, i was more implying that a cop behind you will check for a valid MOT by your reg. Plus the Gov MOT site only wants the reg number when you do an MOT history check of a vehicle.VIN number is checked on an MOT
