The felt behind the my headlining on my bodyshell was glued to the roof when the car was built back in 1973. I've scraped the felt off but the glue remains. It's really hard. Keen to remove it as there's surface rust behind.
So far I've tried synthetic and cellulose thinners. Cellulose thinners work a tiny bit, but not not well enough. Stip and clean disc and wire brush on an angle grinder are too slow - they'd put to much heat into the panel. Rest of the car is in primer so a clean method would be most ideal.
Thinking about getting some glue and tar remover, but I've half a memory that it doesn't work on completely dried out old glue.
Any ideas?
