removing a wing

hi,I have to repair a mk1 mexico wing,and along the drip rail it is brazed,could i set my tig on dc,warm the braze up to split the joint,other wise i need to cut it off,and grind back the braze,just a thought. Ive never done brazing before,tom

Tom don't know about using your tig but braze is quite soft and if you use grinding disc they will clogg with the braze. You should be able to gently prize up the edge with an old but sharp wood chistle and mallet. Never sure why they braze a couple of spots around older cars (had that on my old mk 1 cortina) and the capri I'm now doing. Rem if you are going to weld it after (mig or tig) you will need to get rid of all the braze otherwise it will polute the weld and spit like crazy.
