Removing a wheel chair tail lift

Daughters converting a T4 to a camper, well I am she if helping, the price was right but its got a massive Wheel Chair tail lift in the back any one every removed one?
How hard can it be?
Are they worth anything?
Its a massive piece of engineering

It will be a reasonable weight(200kg typically from memory), don't take liberties with it.
Not difficult as just bolts and not forgetting the hydraulics
Is it the underneath one or in the back style?

Its bolted to the van floor, was going to have look today but would need a snorkel as its hammering down.

Do I unbolt it with it in the open or closed position????

I hate to see things scrapped unless absolutely necessary why not takes some pics of it and confirm its in working condition before you remove it. Failing that are there any decent parts on it, i.e. would it make a table lift or something like that. I'm a great believer that every thing has some value and what ever you get could help go towards your daughter conversion costs.

We made a video of it, just had it working and disconnected the power to it, a few on Ebay but I dont think they are selling as if some one needs a Wheel chair lift I assume the Motability company etc sort it all out?
On a plus side now we have had a proper look it also has another 12v Hydraulic power pack, I that looks like it was operated from in the cab to an old lift, looks like the lift has been replaced but they have left it on? I will send winch boy underneath to investigate.
My mate has one on a sprinter and had used it for loading mtorbikes, I suspect its well over the permitted weight thought!
I wonder what else we could make from it????

I planned to buy one and fit it to my trailer as a mini Hiab as I can't lift things these days.
But sold the trailer instead.

Hired a Luton body box van with a tail lift for moving house last year, I suspect my Kawasaki ER5 is a little heavier than it was designed for, did the job though...

We have had all sorts on my mates this one is rated at 350Kg!, but I would hope the factor of safety is higher

Unlikely to be much use for anyone but a DIY project

I removed a very new, very very spendy hoist bath, but due to issues getting it certified it went in the scrap, minus the linear actuators which are sat under my desk waiting for a project

I removed one from a sprinter....
before all the bolts are loose make sure u have a ratchet strap to hold it together......
better off with it closed.....
had a viewer wanted to look at it on the ground, opened it up for him (of course he didnt buy it)....
nightmare to close it back up.....got €50 for it.....
more trouble than it's worth unless u have somebody for it....
I'd try to sell it before removal....

It needs to be out ASAP as we need to make a start on the conversion this week, Its a shame to scrap such a nice piece of engineering, I wondered if the power packs would be any use for a press as one has a manual pump on it as well as 12v?

The weight of it I think I would be better off scrapping it than selling!

If it was the cassette type there would have been 2 stops to remove and the lift would come out of the housing , if done a few, sell it or keep the hydraulics

2 rams and hyd pack must be usfell, rams are double acting on the one we scraped
